CAA Signs ‘Be Somebody’ Director Joshua Caldwell
Creative Artists Agency (CAA) announced today that it has signed director Joshua Caldwell. The news coincides with opening of his new film “Be Somebody,” starring Viner Matthew Espinosa, which Paramount is releasing today in ten theaters in the U.S. and on demand and digital HD.
Caldwell, 32, won an MTV Movie Award in 2006 for his film “The Beautiful Lie,” which he wrote, directed and produced while still a student at Fordham Unversity. His first feature, “Layover,” made for just $6,000, premiered at the 2014 Seattle International Film Festival, where it was nominated for the New American Cinema Award. He went on to develop online projects for “CSI” creator Anthony E. Zuiker, including “Cybergeddon” (Yahoo), and direct the eight-episode Hulu series “South Beach.”
